Based on resolver’s experience to date, often your insurance renewal quote is higher for no apparent reason. Contact your insurer to find out why the renewal premium is higher. They should be able to provide you with a reason for this. Over the course of the year your profile may have changed and therefore a different insurer may be more competitive for you compared to last year. You may have moved or have made a claim, for example. If you have not made a claim you should benefit from an additional year’s no claims bonus and expect to pay less for your insurance for this next year.

You may want to look around for a more competitive rate from another insurer – have a look at one of the online price comparison websites and you might save yourself some money. Be aware that some insurers will automatically renew your policy unless you have informed them you wish to cancel it.
