Based on resolver’s experience to date, claiming a refund for an unwanted season ticket is pretty simple. As soon as you decide you no longer need your season ticket, you should return it to the ticket seller where you bought it, as any refund will be calculated from that date. The refund will be the difference between the price you paid and the cost of tickets for the period that you actually used the ticket. There will usually be an administration fee taken off your refund. Do be aware that an annual season ticket will have no refund value after about 10 and a half months, a monthly one must have at least seven days remaining and on a weekly ticket, at least three days remaining. If you wish to cancel due to illness, it can be possible to backdate the refund to the time when you stopped using your season ticket, as long as you can provide a supporting document as evidence.
