If you have submitted information to the parking company by email, letter or phone call, it is deemed received when the item is delivered to the company. If you submit your case via Resolver, we will ensure the emails are dleivered and if required can provide proof of the communication being delivered.
You should never be denied the opportunity to open a dialogue with a company over an issue.
You should knowProblems with airport parking?
If you've encountered problems with an airport's parking, you should raise a complaint via Resolver. If the airport isn't able to resolve the matter to your satisfaction, you can ask for a POPLA code to take the matter to POPLA.
POPLA and airport land
Up until recently, POPLA were unable to consider appeals raised as a result of penalties for parking on airport and railway land. This is because byelaws apply in cases like this. As of 1 November 2018, the Government has clarified their position on penalties raised on by-law land – and POPLA should now be able to consider your appeal.
Delays, cancelled flights or extreme weather
Most airport car park operators will bend the rules a little in cases where extenuating circumstances have stopped you from getting to your car before your stay expires. If they don't, you should explain the situation in your Resolver case!
Short term parking
Most airports operate a pay on exit policy for their short term, meaning it’s fairly unlikely you’ll be ticketed for overstaying. However, if you do end up being ticketed, you should be aware that you can appeal to POPLA if the airport can’t resolve the matter to your satisfaction.
Is the parking space operated by the airport or a private parking firm?
Please note that many airport parking areas are managed by private parking companies.
If in doubt, check online and at the top of any ticket or receipt you might have been given!
If you’ve had an issue with a private parking firm that isn't owned and operated by an airport, you should raise it directly with them via the Resolver homepage.
